The public opinion survey in Singapore

This evening, my teacher wanted my group to go on the street to interview some people. We had to ask someone some questions and then write the public opinion survey on our blogs.

The first person was a woman and she is about 35 years old. She is Singaporean and she’s teaching Chinese in Singapore. She said that: ‘My English is very bad, so I can’t help you.

The second one was a woman. She is about 28 years old. When I asked her, she said: ‘No’ immediately and waved her hand. She looked be very hurry because she walked very fast.

The third ones were a woman and a young girl. They told us they are from Japan and they’re going shopping. The woman’s husband is working in Singapore, so they come here to visit him. Although their English’s not well but they were very friendly and very pleased to answer us. The young girl said: ‘ The electronic goods in Singapore are cheaper than Japan’s.’ They told us they like Singapore very much. We had to say goodbye to them because we had to ask some more people.

The fourth one was a seller. She was selling shoes in a shop. She answered quickly: ‘I’m selling and I don’t have free time.’ She’s about 35 years old and I guessed she’s Singaporean.

The last one was a young girl and she’s about 25 years old. She was very friendly and she always smiled when she talked. She’s from Malaysia and she’s working in Singapore. She’s got dark skin and she’s very beautiful. When she knew that we are student from a language school, she was very happy. She told me: ‘Your English is very good!’ and she smiled tenderly. I was very happy and a little shy.

After we asked a few people in Singapore, I think Singaporeans are not friendly. They are very busy and they don’t want to answer to the strangers. I don’t know why they don’t want to answer like that but I’m a little disappointed. The foreigners in Singapore are very different. Most of them are very friendly and very kind. I hope that one day, all of people on over the world will be friendly to each other.
